MILAN IMAGE ART FAIR 2024
Roya Khadjavi curates a collection showcasing the photographic works of six Iranian artists, each addressing the theme of change in their unique ways. Tooraj Khamenezadeh's "Disruption Project" captures eerie moments from the lockdown period in New York City, while Tahmineh Monzavi's "Gen Z" series portrays the resilient Iranian youth. Negin Mahzoun employs textiles in her "Destruction" series to convey emotional trauma, while Dariush Nehdaran's "Clandestinity" series explores concealment through broken mirrors. Sepideh Salehi celebrates womanhood and freedom fighters in her collages, and Ali Tahayori's "Archive of Longing" delves into vulnerability and belonging through reconstructed vintage photographs, inviting viewers to reconsider history and memory through a queer diasporic lens.
